Modern Kitchen Remodel

A modern kitchen for a classic modern home.

Let’s talk about your project

The clients approached us with the challenge of remodeling the kitchen in their hybrid north seattle home. Their home was a typical war box that had a rather heroic exposed beam mid century living room added onto it at some point. The contrast between the low ceilings and cramped spaces of the war box and the high ceilings and open spaces of the addition was extreme.

We removed the warren of walls and allowed the open living area to flow into the new kitchen. A large island and bar area face into the newly opened living room. We removed a wall separating the living area from the dining room and connected them with an underlit floating steel bridge. The new stone flooring connects the walnut clad kitchen with the stone and wood in the living area.
