modern kitchen 2

modern kitchen 2

location:
Seattle

We always love getting invited back. A client with a great mid century house asked us to update their bath with hopes of following up with the kitchen at a later date. We took the existing and dated bath and made it more functional and attractive by using a salvaged claw foot tub on blocks as well as custom casework from Kerf design here in Seattle. A couple of year later we got to come back and do the kitchen.

The kitchen was a bit more of an architectural challenge. Poor construction of a past addition had led to rot necessitating the need for us to tear most of the walls down. While not ideal, this did give us the chance to change the flow and feel of the kitchen. We added a line of windows looking into the rear yard and replaced all the casework to drastically increase work space. A custom island and a full height pantry wall (in yellow of course) completed the design of this modern kitchen. Of course it always helps to have clients with great taste.
