This 2500 sqft home in Brunswick ME is located on a long narrow 22 acre lot which winds all the way down to Maquoit Bay. The house is positioned down a long driveway to take advantage of the various natural landscape features which can be taken in from all points of the house. The design was derived from regional architecture and from a strong desire to passively heat and cool the home under extreme weather conditions. The result was a living wing and a bedroom wing separated by a gasket. The envelope and a masonry oven were critical to the design and allow for energy efficiency year round.
